Bonding / White Fillings

Cosmetic bonding is a process where Dr. Saiedy attaches or “bonds” materials directly to your tooth in order to change the color and shape. The natural tooth enamel is then fused together with bonding materials such as porcelain and resins to create a strong structure that still feels like your original tooth.

While it can be used for different purposes, according to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, tooth bonding is most useful for repairing chipped teeth. That’s because the bonding materials and porcelain used are natural in color, and allows for a finished product that closely matches your surrounding teeth.

Cosmetic Bonding is a simple service that can be completed in just one visit to our office. You will be happy with your results and the look and feel of your healthy teeth.

There are a number of dental issues that bonding can correct. While bonding is most often used to successfully correct chipped teeth, a dentist may also recommend it if you have large spaces between your teeth or if one tooth is considerably smaller than the others. Bonding can also be used if your teeth are very discolored, and in some cases, it's considered as a tooth-colored, white filling option versus amalgam or metallic fillings, or can be used to replace a metallic filling.

No one has perfect teeth. Aging, dental hygiene, and previous injuries or accidents can all affect the form and function of your teeth. Luckily, there are many dental procedures designed to improve the way your teeth look and function and bonding are one of them. The process of bonding teeth has a few advantages over options such as veneers -- bonding costs less and the wait time is shorter. If you aren't happy with the appearance of your teeth, or if you have an issue that needs to be corrected, bonding might be the right procedure for you.

Tooth-Colored / White Fillings

These days, more and more patients are getting white fillings. Here are two important facts of comparison about white fillings versus amalgam or metallic fillings:

White fillings can save more tooth structure.

White fillings are great because they look natural and they bond directly to the tooth so dentists do not need to remove much tooth structure to place them. White fillings also don’t put you at risk for cracks in adjacent natural tooth structure the way amalgam fillings do.

White fillings are repairable.

If there’s a problem with a small area of a composite filling, Dr. Basil Saiedy can remove and replace just that part without replacing the entire filling. If there was a problem with even a small part of your amalgam filling, the entire filling would have to be removed.

Bonding is one of the least expensive cosmetic procedures.

Unlike crowns and veneers, which require more time to prepare and a second visit to place them, bonding can be completed in a single visit.

Bonding requires minimal tooth removal. Frequently patients get multiple teeth bonded in one short appointment.
